1 cup butter, softened
1 teaspoon salt
4 eggs
1 1/2 cups flour
3 cups sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 cup cocoa powder
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Combine the butter, sugar, and vanilla in a large bowl. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, until thoroughly blended. Gradually stir in the dry ingredients and then the chocolate chips. Spread batter into a greased 9 by 13 pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.

The traditional recipes here have withstood the taste tests of time, but the newer- cleaner- gluten free recipes I keep posting are every bit as delicious. Enjoy!
